Our IFR training combines ground school, simulator sessions, and in-flight instruction, all taught by seasoned FAA-certified instructors. We prioritize hands-on learning to ensure you’re not only prepared to pass the FAA Instrument Rating exam, but also confident in real-world flight scenarios.
To enroll, students must meet the following FAA-mandated criteria:
- Prior Certification: You must already hold a private pilot certificate or be concurrently applying for one.
- Medical Certificate: A third-class medical certificate is required.
- Flight Time: At least 50 hours of cross-country flight time as pilot in command, with at least 10 hours in airplanes for those seeking an instrument-airplane rating.
- Instrument Time: A minimum of 40 hours of actual or simulated instrument time is required.
- Instructor Time: At least 15 hours of instrument flight training must be completed with an authorized instructor.
- Cross-Country Flight: You'll also complete one cross-country flight of at least 250 nautical miles, incorporating three different types of instrument approaches.
